Schwalbenschwanz - Papilio machaon - Swallow Tail

My granddaughter, living in Germany, 22, two years ago also with diagnosed Hashimoto, was at the doctor's for blood tests this week, because she has been feeling really bad for weeks now. Today she writes, that her doctor only had the TSH measured (8,0). No T3 and T4 values. No inflammation or cortisol values. And because my granddaughter as a consequence of the exacerbation now has high blood pressure and shortness of breath and is constantly trembling, she has also prescribed her a beta blocker. With a TSH of 8.0!! Without measuring of further relevant values!!

I am horrified. I feel a lack of words for such ignorance. For years, again and again I learn about such doctors in the context of Hashimoto. I do not get used to it.

By the way, it's the same female doctor who allows (she claims - who believes) that her medical assistant interpreted the first lab test and diagnosed my granddaughter with over-functioning thyroid instead of Hashimoto.Whereon my granddaughter after the misdiagnosis hyperfunction in the first eight months had to take medications against hyperfunction despite massive hypofunction. Incredible.

My granddaughter asked the doctor to refer her to a specialist. And instead of the doctor helping her to find someone, my granddaughter has to go to find somebody herself. As if her bad condition was not enough.
