Geburtstag und Dankbarkeit - Birthday and Gratitude

Merci euch allen.

With "Nose-Bicycle". At the moment I don't know what this oxygen transfer application is called. Neither in German nor in English :-)

These days I am celebrating my new birthday, A year ago at this time I had survived the worst of Sars-CoV-2. I was moved from emergency to ordinary Covid isolation, no longer needed the oxygen mask, the "nose velo" was enough and I could walk four, five metres on my own. Today I am moved by a strong feeling of gratitude.

I am very grateful to a doctor friend of mine who lived in Germany at the time and had the symptoms reported to her every day. I am grateful to her and another friend because on 18.01. they told me: "You have to go to hospital. You can't stay at home like this." I am grateful to the doctors and nurses in Arlesheim hospital who reacted quickly when they saw that I needed more and more oxygen. I am grateful to the female emergency doctor who did not hesitate to call an intensive care unit in Basel to ask what was indicated in this case and told me so. "Prone position, as often and as long as possible," was the answer. And lo and behold, my brave body responded wonderfully to the relief. I am also infinitely grateful for this body, which always reacts very quickly to adequate stimuli. I also feel a deep sense of gratitude for all the people who wrote to me when I still had too little breath to speak. You have been a great support to me. Merci all together.
