Z.B. so

This afternoon I sat down on the sofa and listened to Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, first played by Hélène Grimaud, then by Vladimir Ashkenazy - whom btw. I heard live for the first time in the early 80s at the Härdöpfuchäuer Schöftland.

Meanwhile I tried to remember how I spent my free time before internet and social media. In 1983 I was a single mother, completed on the second-chance education at AKAD successfully Matura and then studied history and German linguistics and literature. Amazingly, in spite of all these workings I regularly had the time to hear during two hours music or radio plays, which often took one and a half hours.

While in the evening I was preparing the subject matters for the next day, to come down I was knitting even a sock or in the smaller output two children socks. With friends I wrote multipage letters. When it took three or four weeks until a response has come back, this was nothing unusual, and no one four days after the letter had been brought to the post office, thought that the others one didn't like no more or were upset by something because there was still no answer.

Times then certainly weren't better. But when I noticed during the last few weeks, that instead of taking breaks and resting for a spell, I on Twitter looked after news, I had to realize that this could not be good for me.

Meanwhile I've made to myself the obligation to make my breaks again relaxed. For example with Rachmaninow, see video above with Hélène Grimaud.
